Neural coding for olfactory sensory stimuli hasbeen mapped
near completion in the Drosophilafirst-order center, but little
is known in thehigher brain centers. Here, we report that
theantenna lobe (AL) spatial map is transformedfurther in the
calyx of the mushroom body(MB), an essential olfactory
associated learningcenter, by stereotypic connections with
projectionneurons (PNs). We found that Kenyon cell(KC)
dendrites are segregated into 17 complementarydomains
according to their neuroblastclonal origins and birth orders.
Aligning the PNaxonal map with the KC dendritic map
andultrastructural observation suggest a positionalordering
such that inputs from the different ALglomeruli have distinct
representations in theMB calyx, and these representations
might synapseon functionally distinct KCs. Our data
suggestthat olfactory coding at the AL is decodedin the MB
and then transferred via distinct lobesto separate higher
brain centers.

對同樣在這樣的環境中做出如此成績而為他們感到高興
相對的在競爭意識上也就更為強烈了
沒有什麼藉口可以說,器材不足阿、金費不夠阿
現實是人家做出了這麼漂亮的成績
自己的時間還剩下一年幾個月
才要丟第一篇,而且是小小小的期刊
還有很大的空間要努力...........
